Surajkund is one of my favorite things about India ... I wrote about it in detail last year ... but wanted to share a couple of pictures from 2012 as well.

If you have a chance to go in future years, make it a priority!  The shopping can sometimes be subpar, but the cultural experience is awesome!

Surajkund Fair is organized each year by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in Surajkund(located near the border of Delhi) in Haryana.

Surajkund Mela is more or less similar to the Dilli Haat of Delhi, and it is considered as a great tourist event and a good hangout for the tourists and citizens Delhi NCR who want a little entertainment in their life.

Here you can not only enjoy shopping but you can also enjoy food of differnt states of India. Yes here you can taste different varieties of indiginous and unique food of all different states of India.

Apart from food, you can also buy artistic furniture, furnishing items, jute rugs, jute carpets, bonsai trees, different types of plants, crafts made from jute likejute bags, jute crafts, etc.

If you are a foreigner then I would advice you to visit this place at least once. You will have a glimpse of India from here.

similar to Delhi Haat, here you can shop various kinds of art and crafts objects for home decoration, traditional Indian womens clothing like cotton kurtis for ladies, beautiful womens tunics, artificial jewelry, shawls, stoles, traditional sarees, etc.

Suraj Kund Mela is also similar to the Delhi Haat, the only difference is that Delhi Haat is permanent structure and is open round the year, but Suraj Kund Fair is held only for one month in a year.

But is also a very famous fair of Delh NCR region, as lakhs of people visit this fair with great enthusiasm and enjoy culture, cultural programmes, unique food, of this fair.
