Tons of people are doing this intentional summer thing.
Amy, Ali, Kristen, Lindsey and others that I will let you find (go crazy by googling Summer List or Summer Manifesto!).
We decided that we needed to do one as well, and set to work on finding a fun way to display it. Lucky for us, the seller of our home in Florida left behind quite a few pieces of random wood.
The littlest little and I set to work with the big piece of wood and a brand new, sparkling tray of watercolors.
I polled the family for their contributions of what they wanted to do this summer, and it's no surprise that the two boys said "I dunno" while us girls came up with a fun list right away.
It will sit in a prominent place to remind us to intentionally participate in this summer, as a family.
The Sharpies sit nearby so that we can add to the list at any time (boy, was it nice to restock my Sharpie supply! I've missed them!) and we have already checked some off of the list!
Even bigger than the list for the family, I have my own list (not necessarily one that will be proclaimed in colors for the world to see) and I'm looking forward to growing and stretching myself a bit this summer. I'm planning to take advantage of early morning sunrises, late evening candle sessions and fresh air-induced deep sleeps.

Wait a minute, where's "finally meet John and Lindsay" on the list?!?!?
(Seriously though, the last one on your list is what we missed while in India; I'm not even sure we've used the kitchen table in lieu of the lanai since we've been here....speaking of lanais, you can probably add "explain what a lanai is to Midwestern friends - no one from Chicago seems to have heard the term.)
I hope 'send mail to friends' includes g'ma deb!
I LOVE, LOVE this idea!! You always come up with the greatest ideas though..!!
I love the "Horn Please" one as well ;~D xx
