If only there were always two helpers to get the sari wrapped correctly!
On Day ONE of her trip here, Sue purchased a sari. Obviously, the long-sleeved t-shirt underneath was a part of trying on at the sari shop, but with the proper blouse underneath, it is absolutely stunning.
She wisely chose the "stitched" option which means no pleating when she wears it! I can't wait to hear about her first wearing of the sari back home in Ohio!

beautiful saari
Gorgeous photos. Many years ago a friend's mother let me try on one of her saris. I felt like a princess. I couldn't get the hang of the pleating, though. :)
You "drape" a sari, a skill that takes much practice over many years. And "wrap" a gift, also a skill that takes much practice. Although one can look pretty gift-wrapped in a beautiful sari. Like your friend.
Drape ... ah ha!! Thanks Anon!
Saree shopping - aaah. Always fun to fill the counter looking for that one saree - and the assistants are so patient, they are not bothered if you sit there for ages picking out what you want!
